Captain Rowe’s Watercolor Workshop at Extentia

Pune, March 28, 2011 - Extentians were treated to a one-of-its-kind event this past weekend. Saturday morning, they witnessed a demonstration of watercolor painting by the well known artist, Captain A.V. Rowe. The good-sized audience observed as the ninety year old artist painted a few landscape pieces, and explained the intricacies of watercolor creations.

Captain Rowe is a World War II veteran, who gradually took to painting after suffering a severe hearing disability while fighting in Burma. His specialty is landscapes - particularly trees, and his work has been exhibited several times.

Some from the audience did a few paintings under the Captain’s supervision, with feedback on their work from him. There was also discussions with the artist on painting and his experiences over time. He also met with a couple of journalists who visited Extentia to cover the event.
