Pune, July 1, 2010 - Jim Kinlan, CEO of KMT Software/Templatezone – Extentia’s oldest partner, made an informal presentation to Extentians this week. The Extentia ‘Breakfast Talk’ event was held at the Boat Club in Pune on Thursday, July 1. Kinlan’s TemplateZone – ‘Smart Business Solutions for your small business’ was founded in 1992, and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the United States. It provides productivity products such as template software for small business users, and is dedicated to fulfilling their basic professional needs.

Kinlan shared several humorous anecdotes about his travels in India over the years, to the amusement of the audience. He talked about his introduction to Extentia over a decade ago, and how the relationship has grown over the years. At this time Extentia handles all of KMT’s software development, from India.

During the course of the discussion, Kinlan expressed the need to retain a company’s ‘good’ customers, and expand business with them on the strength of excellent service. He spoke of how organization were ‘firing’ some customers - as they constrained a company’s productivity by offering no business benefits, despite efforts spent to serve them.

Toward the end of the session, he talked about specific offshoring experiences, and offered suggestions to improve cross cultural communication across teams in different countries.
