  • Extentia at The Siliconindia Mobile Developer Conference - September 10, 2011: On Saturday, several Extentians went to the Siliconindia Mobile Developer Conference held at the Aurora Towers in Pune. Extentia was an exhibitor at the event. The mobile development team attended the Android and iOS track sessions. Representatives from Extentia's HR and business development teams were at the Extentia booth. There were over 300 delegates at the conference, and all the sessions were well attended. The speakers were from several technology companies in/around Pune. At the Extentia booth, the team demonstrated mobile applications, and discussed business and career opportunities with visitors. There were several iPhones, iPads, and Android devices on display as well.   • 'The Evolving Power of Social Media in Business' - Session by Extentia CEO Umeed Kothavala - September 9, 2011: At this recent event, Extentia CEO Umeed Kothavala addressed an audience from the Institute of Management Consultants of India (IMCI), and the MIT School of Telecom Management (MITSOT). This joint learning session was organized by these institutes at MITSOT in the MIT Campus, Pune. It covered what social media is, reasons for its popularity, its potential for business, and how to get started through this medium. There were compelling reasons given for why businesses should consider social media, with statistics for its relevance to them.   • Sakaar Event at Extentia - Training for Students from Friends of Children - August 24, 2011: Extentia conducted a training session on the use of Microsoft Office last Sunday, August 21 for students from Friends of Children (FoC). Students from in and around Pune were invited to Extentia's ITT premises, where Sakaar volunteers provided instruction on the use of the software.   • Session at Extentia on the 'Semantic Web' - August 19, 2011 : Ms. Anita Kulkarni-Puranik, founder of Metamagics - an Extentia/ExSeed partner addressed Extentians on the 'Semantic Web'. Per Wikipedia, 'The Semantic Web is a web of data that facilitates machines to understand the semantics, or meaning, of information on the World Wide Web.' The term was coined by Tim Berners-Lee,the inventor of the World Wide Web. Ms.Kulkarni-Puranik spoke of the semantic web's relevance to businesses online, and the benefits of publishing web content enriched with semantic markers. View pictures
  • HP TouchPad Tablet Reviewed at Extentia - August 1, 2011: A group of Extentians took a look at HP's new WebOS tablet device - the TouchPad. They discussed the tablet's look and feel, its WebOS operating system, applications, the HP app store, and performance, among other things. View video
  • Session on Social Media for Empowered Learning Systems - April 5, 2011: Umeed Kothavala, CEO of Extentia, held a session on social media for the senior management of Empowered Learning Systems. The event was organized on April 1 at the Beaver Golden Fields Resort near Pune. He spoke about social media from a business perspective, and cited trends, statistics, and case studies.   • Extentia and Friends of Children (FoC) - 15 March, Pune, India - FoC is a non-profit organization formed in 2003 by a group of individuals. Their objective is to facilitate a better economic future for underprivileged children, by sponsoring the higher education of deserving students. This would give them a strong foundation to earn their livelihood. Extentia has been associated with FoC since 2006. On the occasion of the company's anniversary recently, Extentia made a donation to FoC to fund a Residential Youth Camp for sixty students in May 2010.
  • Extentia launches iPad application development services - 10 February, Pune, India - Apple's new iPad has generated a lot of interest over the last few weeks. During the launch, Apple confirmed that most iPhone applications would be compatible with the iPad, with many new specialist apps being created by the development community.
