Application Messaging
What is LiveWare?
LiveWare provides software developers and hardware suppliers with a framework and a comprehensive set of client/server tools to manage ongoing software updates, measure customer product usage and reach all product users through in-application messaging.
Messages and updates are tailored to the specific needs of end users. This means
software updates are sent only to users who require them. When collating product
usage information, no personal customer details are collected. The anonymity of end
users is assured.
Using LiveWare can increase sales
revenue, decrease customer support costs and optimize investment in future software development.
LiveMessaging
With LiveMessaging, software and hardware vendors can reach all active
users through targeted in-application messages - just at the right Messagable
Moments - such as when the user starts up the application. These can be
contextualized, for example: offering an upgrade when the user starts up the
program, or offering discounts on the full version of the product once the trial period has expired. These Messagable Moments can be utilized to reach customers with appropriate messages.
- Convert trial users to full product users.
- Cross-sell products and services.
- Inform users of tips, training and seminars.
- Gather user information through optional surveys.
LiveBits
LiveBits enables the easy streaming of data updates straight to the user’s desktop, allowing
software developers and vendors to ensure their customers have the latest, most stable
version available. With LiveBits, software developers can:
- Reduce costs of upgrading customers and create a measurable decrease in customer
support costs.
- Limit notices of updates to customers based on their specific version and product
ID - LiveBits does not bother customers unnecessarily.
- Allow enterprise installations to customize update and messaging policies.
LiveMetrics
LiveMetrics enables software developers and vendors to capture general information
about how end users utilize their products, along with installed platform and version
information. What percentage of customers have upgraded to the latest version? What
operating system are they using? How often is the product used? What are the most frequently accessed features? By collating this information, developers can optimize future product
investments by understanding the requirements of end users.
LiveMetrics collects details from the installed user base and sends them to a central server which aggregates the data. For example:
- Application (software product, version, build number).
- Setup (hardware platform, options selected during installation).
- Usage report (frequency of use).
- Operating system type and version.
LiveMetrics usage reports give a picture of overall usage patterns across the installed user base, rather than reporting on the specific behavior of any individual user. Since individual installations are identified only by a completely anonymous ID (e.g. 2105B99-0DFA-4531-9DD1-7372B1180C39) end user confidentiality is assured. LiveMetrics collects no
names, no addresses, no IP details or any other personal data that would compromise end user
confidentiality.
LiveWare respects and guarantees the privacy of the user.
What kind of information is reported?
Typical LiveMetrics reports will give software developers and vendors more information about how their product is used, enabling them to tailor future developments accordingly.
- What options and features are typically used, and how often?
- What file types are most often used?
- What templates and toolbars are used most often? Etc.
