Extentia signs MOU with Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College, China
Pune, India, August 23, 2006 - Extentia Information Technology Pvt. Ltd. , today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College, Shandong (China) in association with Shandong Sino-India GTT Co. Ltd.
Under the terms of the partnership, Extentia will offer its Connect Global Internship Program to students of the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College, in partnership with GTT’s office in China.
Extentia was honored to have the opportunity to host the delegation from China – the representatives included Mr. Xu Zhenxi, Secretary of Shouguang Committee of the CPC and Mr. Cui Xiaojie, the President of the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College. The delegation visited Extentia’s headquarters and primary development center for brief business discussions and presentations, followed by a walkthrough of the facilities.
At a dinner hosted by Extentia later that evening, the tripartite MOU was signed by Mr. Umeed Kothavala, CEO of Extentia Information Technology, Mr. Cui Xiaojie, the President of the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College and Mr. Swapnil Dhayade, CEO of GTT, India. Dr. Marc Cremer and Dr. Markus Volpers from Extentia (Germany) were also present for the signing.
Umeed Kothavala of Extentia said, “We are proud to be associated with the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College, and to be connected through this program. The internship offered by Extentia offers international interns field-based learning experiences that combine study, observation, and application in the areas of software development, technology consulting and business development. This will be the first step of a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
This premier partnership will now give the students of the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills necessary for a career in information technology and to apply educational, leadership, and communication concepts and theories in a practical context.
GTT, India plays an instrumental role in the partnership. Swapnil Dhayade on GTT’s role indicated that, “GTT will be actively involved in the internship program, providing quality supervision and ensuring that the internship provides an educational experience to the students.”
Representatives of the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College will initiate the internship program by recommending individuals who have earned a good record and are keen to gain the international experience provided by the internship program, for placement in the program.
Besides providing Extentia with course and curriculum material, the delegation extended a warm invitation to representatives of Extentia to visit the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College campus and consult with faculty and internship candidates.
In the near future, representatives of Extentia Information Technology and the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College plan to conduct a series of meetings to initiate, coordinate and improve the program, and to identify additional areas of cooperation between the organizations.
