Dreamforce 2020 was a wild ride for us all. The sessions were virtual, but there was a real sense of warmth as trailblazers, partners and contemporaries collectively celebrated the small victories we’ve had in a year that’s had its share of ups and downs for businesses, organizations, and individuals.
The Opening Keynote
Marc Benioffs’ legendary keynote began with a dramatic entrance on the big Winter Wonderland stage in San Fransisco. With his usual warmth and smiles, he reiterated how Salesforce Sales Executives were personally standing ready to bring a unique private Dreamforce experience to customers all over the world.
Benioff also expressed his thanks to healthcare and essential workers as well as the Trailblazer community and the entire Salesforce Ohana for their dedication and invaluable assistance in navigating some of the challenges posed by the pandemic across the globe.
“How interesting to watch Marc Benioff giving a keynote from the Christmas-themed stage at Salesforce Park.” said Komal Khilnani, Vice President, Business Development at Extentia. “His keynote really set the tone for the rest of Dreamforce with a whole host of notable announcements that are sure to benefit the Ohana as a whole as we go into the new year. Also, unlike every other year when we’re at the fringe or standing outside the main hall, this year we had the most comfortable seats - in our own homes!”
Announcements
One of the biggest announcements was confirmation of Salesforce’s purchase of Slack. We’re incredibly excited to see how Slack’s collaborative power will elevate Salesforce’s Customer 360.
Another thrilling announcement was that of Salesforce Hyperforce, that Salesforce COO, Bret Taylor aptly called Salesforce’s largest technological advancement in years!
Hyperforce will allow Salesforce customers to securely deploy Salesforce apps and services from anywhere using the scalability and the agility of public clouds across the world.
“The acquisition of Slack, and the announcement of Hyperforce were incredibly exciting for all of us at the practice.”, said Binu Moothedan, Vice President of Extentia’s Salesforce Practice.
“Both will be absolute game changers and we can’t wait to utilize them in our implementations.”
Einstein Automate was also announced and is set to be a unique offering across the Salesforce ecosystem. It will provide easy to use end-to-end workflow solutions designed to deliver enhanced automation capabilities to any business function, thereby empowering both people and businesses as well as augmenting productivity substantially.
The keynote was concluded with performances by Metallica and Lenny Kravitz, who blew us away and made us feel like they were right there in front of us, melting our faces as we bounced and grooved to their music.
DreamTx
A week later, DreamTx brought on nothing short of a virtual extravaganza of demos, sessions, and exhibits of the greatest innovations that the Salesforce ecosystem has managed despite a difficult year.
The four days of DreamTx was each dedicated to a different facet of the Salesforce ecosystem and its offerings.
While the first day focused on leveraging the power of Customer 360, the second day was centered on finding ways to navigate the current situation and how companies are reinventing themselves through innovation. Day three saw a whole host of sessions dedicated to catalyzing customer success and was full of stories that encapsulated the true essence of why Salesforce and sustained customer success go hand-in-hand. The fourth and final day was centered on live demos that showcased the latest and greatest innovations on the Salesforce platform.
To be able to witness Salesforce’s biggest annual event from the comfort of our homes in larger numbers than ever before is something that we do not take for granted and we hope that this year’s Dreamforce serves to inspire fellow trailblazers to continue to create path-breaking solutions.
Extentia’s Virtual Booth
Having attended Dreamforce for almost a decade, Extentia kicked off with a throwback to Dreamforces past.
We also invited our friends and partners to attend our first-ever Extentia Virtual Booth for a series of fun, quirky virtual activities designed to refresh and rejuvenate minds in between Dreamforce sessions.
Missed our booth? You can catch the highlights here! We missed seeing all of you in person this year and we hope that Dreamforce ’21 is where we’re all able to reunite in person once again.
Until then, stay safe, stay home, stay productive, and always strive to “Do More, Be More”.
