Extentia hosted a special session with Pradip Sitaram, CIO of Enterprise Community Partners (Enterprise) on January 10, 2017, for startups who are part of the Amplifi Accelerator program. They were challenged to put forward an elevator pitch to the mentors – a quick definition of the product that they intend to build and its value proposition. Each startup focused on using SaaS as a platform to create innovative solutions for a range of industries including HR, education, construction, healthcare, and more.

 

Pradip Sitaram, the guest mentor listened intently to all the plans and strategies of the startups and provided constructive criticism. He urged the startups to think beyond just automation and efficiency as value propositions. And, citing examples of companies like Airbnb, Amazon, and Uber, he challenged the teams to visualize a platform-network-data model for their businesses to truly demonstrate innovation and value.

 

‘I had a good time interacting with these budding entrepreneurs, full of enthusiasm and innovative ideas,’ said Pradip Sitaram, CIO, Enterprise. ‘I appreciate each one of them and believe they need mentoring when it comes to pitching better and understanding the importance of platform, networks, and data. It’s important that the startups understand that the merely focusing on the efficiencies that a solution provides isn’t sufficient any more; and investors are now actually looking for other dimensions of value that can be created.’

The audience was made up of Extentia’s senior management and business teams. Several startup representatives attended the meeting online from their respective locations. The session was interactive with an active Q & A session at the end of each pitch.
