The XPL Chess Tournament 2024 exemplified Extentia’s culture, turning a beloved pastime into an arena where every participant, from seasoned players to enthusiastic beginners could shine.

The teams battling it out in this fierce competition were the Extentian houses: Parikrama, Constant Variables (CV), Unicorn, Royal Brigade (RB), Infinite, and the organizing house: Spartans.

To ensure everyone could join in, learning sessions were held from June 3 to June 5, led by top players. These sessions introduced beginners to the game and helped them develop their skills, resulting in impressive performances, even from those who had never played before.

The tournament started with a fun '2 Minutes to Win It' mini game, creating an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie. Players from all houses were already wholeheartedly embracing the tournament's competitive atmosphere.

The league matches were intense and thrilling. Each round brought jaw-dropping moments and fierce competition, culminating in Spartans securing a 2nd place finish, advancing confidently to the semi-finals, and Unicorn triumphing over RB to reach the semi-finals.

The finals between Constant Variables (CV) and Unicorn were a testament to the spirit of competition that defined the tournament. With the scores tied at 4-4 on the evening of day two, Constant Variables (CV) held their nerve and secured key victories in the final stages, ultimately winning the tournament with an 8-4 score.

Unicorn's fierce determination and remarkable comeback story were inspiring, but Constant Variables (CV)'s consistent excellence and undefeated streak earned them the championship title.

The XPL Chess Tournament 2024 was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of the Extentian spirit. It showcased the power of belief, the strength in unity, and the joy of striving for excellence.

The lessons learned from this tournament will continue to inspire until many more such moments of pride, celebration, and shared success!
