Extentia hosted the second season of XPRSS, the company’s internal ‘by Extentians for Extentians’ event completely online on Nov 26-27, 2020. Spanning over two days, the event was held on Nov 26-27 and

included keynotes and panel discussions around the overarching theme of Experience Centric Transformation, a unique approach that the company follows across its projects and deliverables. The panelists, keynote speakers, and audience comprised of Extentians as they came together to discuss topics ranging from technology to design.

The event kicked off on Nov 26 with a keynote by Gaurav Menon on ‘Bad Design in a Galaxy Far, Far Away…’ that elaborated on the intriguing topic of bad design, addressing a specific design flaw somewhere in a faraway galaxy and the importance of design in product development and delivery. It was followed by a panel discussion around how a design tweak in a small button resulted in a revenue addition of $300 million for Amazon. The panel, a mixed team comprising of professionals from technical, design, and marketing roles across the company shared their views on the subject. The first day of the event concluded with an exclusive audience discussion where the stage was opened for all attendees to discuss a similar design flaw which resulted in the Hawaii missile alert fiasco.

The second day of XPRSS opened with a keynote on the dark side of design that we all encounter in our everyday routine, most of us oblivious to how we are being manipulated. Following which, there was another interesting keynote on how years of education have minimal usage in one's professional life and ways to prepare oneself for real-life challenges. The panel discussion on day 2 of XPRSS 2020 explored whether innovation is destroying humanity, touching upon the dark side of the ever-thrilling area of constant technical innovation. All the sessions across two days were peppered with questions by the audience, led to enthusiastic discussions and some thoughtful conclusions.

‘The second season of the internal version of our XTND event, XPRSS has been especially memorable as it was organized and executed entirely virtually from start to finish. Touching upon exciting topics pertaining to design and tech, XPRSS was a success and was packed with thought-provoking conversations and triggered great insights across our teams’ said Umeed Kothavala, CEO, Extentia. ‘Bringing together members of the Extentia family from across functions brought to the table varied views on situations encountered in day-to-day life. With this, we look forward to the next season with an interesting new theme!’
