Extentia Organizes ‘ApplePi 2.0’ – Techquarium for Children and Young Adults
Platform for innovation in technology showcases VR, AR, IoT, 3-D printing, and wearable devices
Pune, India, December 26, 2017
From 7 to 21-year-olds, children and young adults arrived in droves at Extentia as ApplePi made a comeback on Wednesday, December 20. The event was aquarium themed and witnessed young minds diving into the world of technology. It began with the children playing a ‘pass the parcel’ game with the colorful Hackaball and choosing different technologies for the presenters to display.
The Amazon Echo family had two new members – Echo Look and Echo Show. The audience enjoyed the Show’s Style Check skill and bombarded Alexa with questions to test the breadth of her knowledge. Google Home was on display along with the newly launched Home Mini to showcase the seamless connectivity of a smart home using Chromecast. The Oculus Rift was back once again to sweep the audience off its feet with virtual reality experiences. While the 3Doodler allowed the children to see their imagination come to life as they created 3D versions of art.
The young participants played with the Flic buttons and discovered how IoT connects everything – like magic. The children ran around the room, pressing the buttons to see discover different uses. Neurosky mapped the brainwaves of volunteers allowing them to play interactive games using their ability to relax and concentrate. The hands-on demonstrations literally allowed a very engaged audience to experience the future of technology today.
Techquarium is Extentia’s platform for new technology devices. These are regularly scheduled in-company and external sessions where these gadgets are showcased, and audiences experiment with them. Techquarium’s intent is to promote innovation and workable ideas for these devices. Participants – technophiles, coders, software developers, as well as marketers and entrepreneurs – are encouraged to take them and explore possible uses.
“We are delighted to present the third edition of Extentia’s Techquarium for kids,” said Umeed Kothavala, CEO, Extentia. “This year we saw a surge in attendance and engagement, we hope this trend continues with the next edition as well.”
